NY Knicks blame haunted hotel for poor play against Oklahoma

The (haunted) Skirvin HotelWe have come across a lot of reasons over the years that teams give to explain away heavy losses. The weather, the venue, the manager, etc.. One excuse .. sorry .. reason we’ve never heard before is a haunted hotel – but that’s exactly what the NY Knicks are blaming their lack of form on during their recent trip to Oklahoma City, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News:

For two days, several players had trouble sleeping because they were convinced that their downtown hotel is haunted.

“I definitely believe it,” Jared Jeffries said. “The place is haunted. It’s scary.”

Eddy Curry claims he slept for only two hours Sunday night because he couldn’t stop thinking about ghosts roaming the hotel.

There are reported ghost stories involving the Skirvin Hotel, which is where the team stayed, but it still sounds a little bit like something out of a comic book. Now then, what would Scooby do?
